Role Overview
The Field Verification Officer plays a pivotal role in strengthening operational integrity by validating customer information, verifying field data, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can build trust in client engagement and drive data accuracy for credit risk management and fintech product delivery.
Core Responsibilities
1. Customer Verification and Onboarding Support
Conduct on-site verification of prospective and existing customers to confirm identity, address, employment, and business operations.
Validate documents submitted digitally or physically (e.g., IDs, utility bills, business permits, KYC documents) against real-world context.
Provide real-time feedback to onboarding teams on discrepancies or risks to inform credit decisions.
2. Field Data Collection & Analysis
Visit clients’ homes, businesses, or designated sites to collect structured data in line with standardized verification protocols.
Capture geo-tagged photographs, GPS coordinates, and supplementary evidentiary materials to corroborate digital records.
Update CRM/fintech platforms with verified data points and narrative observations.
3. Risk and Compliance Assurance
Flag potential fraud, misrepresentation, or high-risk profiles to Risk & Compliance leadership promptly.
Support AML/CFT and internal audit requirements through documented verification reports.
Ensure field activities align with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and data privacy standards.
4. Customer Experience & Relationship Building
Interact professionally with clients, explaining verification steps and setting expectations about timelines and outcomes.
Resolve basic customer queries during field engagements to enhance trust and brand reputation.
Act as a liaison between field operations and customer care functions for seamless service delivery.
5. Reporting & Workflow Integration
Prepare actionable daily/weekly verification reports with metrics such as validation success rates, exceptions, and trends.
Collaborate closely with credit, collections, operations, and account management teams to drive workflow improvements.
Contribute to process refinement workshops to reduce verification turnaround time and cost.
