About The Opportunity
We’re scaling our mission to unlock the potential of Africa’s young innovators through skills development and entrepreneurship—and we need strategic partners to help us get there. We’re seeking ambassadors to help establish and maintain funding partnerships that will power our programs forward.
As our development finance operator, you’ll identify, apply for, and secure grants within the international development and entrepreneurial ecosystems. You’ll have full access to SFAN’s institutional knowledge, established network, and direct leadership support—giving you the resources and relationships needed to succeed in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and Research Grant Opportunities: Proactively search for and evaluate funding prospects (government, foundation, corporate) to ensure strong alignment with the organization’s mission, programs, and needs.
- Write and Develop Compelling Grant Proposals: Create high-quality narratives, budgets, timelines, evaluation plans, and all required attachments that meet each funder’s specific guidelines and deadlines.
- Serve as the Primary Point of Contact with Funders: Act as the official liaison: communicate with program officers, respond to questions, coordinate site visits, handle revisions, and manage all pre- and post-submission interactions.
- Coordinate Submission and Ensure Compliance: Package and submit complete, error-free applications on time through the correct portals; track status and manage award acceptance, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Build and Maintain Funder Relationships & Institutional Knowledge: Cultivate long-term relationships with funders, maintain an up-to-date grants calendar, pipeline, and library of boilerplate materials, and document outcomes to strengthen future applications.
What’s In It For You
- You can do this and all the other things you currently do.
- You’ll have full agency and get a commensurate sales commission model.
- You can be included in RFPs for extra income and for advisory services for programs you win.
- This is a smart way to expand your horizon, network, and exposure.
- You don’t need an office; a laptop and internet connection will suffice.
If you see yourself in this role, please send us your CV and a brief note on your relevant network and fundraising track record to info@sfanonline.org. This role is open until filled. Due to competing interests, only shortlisted operators will be contacted.
Join us. Let’s unlock Africa’s future together!
