Job Title: Managing Director
Location: Accra, Ghana (with oversight of regional branches)
Reports To: Board of Directors
Our client, a regulated non-bank financial institution, is seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director to provide strategic leadership and overall executive management. The role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, profitability, strong governance, and regulatory compliance while enhancing shareholder value and market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Lead the development and execution of Board-approved corporate strategy and business plans.
• Drive growth initiatives, product innovation, market expansion, and business diversification.
• Ensure the institution remains competitive within the non-bank financial services sector.
Business Growth & Financial Performance
• Deliver year-on-year growth in profitability, loan portfolio, deposits, and fee-based income.
• Ensure sound asset-liability management, liquidity, and capital adequacy in line with regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen credit risk management and maintain healthy portfolio quality.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations, including corporate governance, risk management, and AML/CFT frameworks.
• Act as the principal accountable officer for regulatory compliance and statutory reporting.
• Maintain effective enterprise risk management and internal control systems.
Operational Excellence
• Drive operational efficiency, service quality, and cost optimization across all branches and functions.
• Ensure robust fraud prevention, business continuity, and risk mitigation frameworks.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
• Foster a high-performance, ethical, and accountable organizational culture.
• Lead, mentor, and develop senior management while ensuring succession planning.
Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, ICA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10–12 years’ senior management experience, with at least six (6) years in financial services.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, credit risk, and capital management.
• Proven track record in strategic leadership, financial performance, and corporate governance.
