We are currently hiring a Regulatory Coordinator in Nigeria to support regulatory compliance, product registration, and market readiness for imported and locally manufactured products. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in regulatory affairs, compliance documentation, and engagement with Nigerian regulatory authorities.
About the Role
As a Regulatory Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products meet all national and international regulatory requirements. You will coordinate regulatory submissions, manage approvals, maintain compliance documentation, and work closely with internal teams and regulatory agencies to ensure timely product launches and renewals.
This position requires strong organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while staying up to date with evolving regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the registration and re-registration of imported and locally produced products.
- Serve as a liaison with Nigerian regulatory authorities, including NAFDAC, SON, FCCPC, NESREA, NAQS, DVPCS, and other relevant bodies.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions to ensure timely approvals for new products and packaging launches.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation for all products.
- Engage with regulatory authorities to support inspections, audits, and approvals.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and emerging trends that may impact products, ingredients, packaging, labeling, claims, and marketing.
- Lead and participate in industry and trade associations, as well as food standards bodies, to represent company and industry positions.
- Implement globally aligned regulatory advocacy strategies to mitigate regulatory risks and anticipate future challenges.
- Provide regulatory guidance on product formulation, nutrition regulations, labeling, and compliance requirements.
- Support regulatory-related incident management and crisis resolution activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned to support regulatory compliance and business growth.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar regulatory or compliance role.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian regulatory frameworks and agencies.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and external stakeholders.
