About the Role
As a Trainee, you will support the SVP of Canadian Banking, Global Wealth Management, International Banking, and Corporate Functions Compliance. This rotational role provides exposure to various teams, giving you a deep understanding of regulatory risk and compliance practices. You will work on meaningful projects, analyze business processes, and develop insights that contribute to Scotiabank’s global compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the SVP in managing daily priorities, including scheduling and calendar management.
- Analyze and interpret data to generate actionable insights that strengthen the regulatory risk program.
- Develop problem-solving and analytical skills to enhance business decision-making.
- Prepare presentations, progress reports, and communications for senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in planning and executing team-wide events such as Town Halls.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal teams, refining communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborate on high-level projects with senior management and peers.
- Draft, edit, and distribute department-wide communications.
- Track and monitor action items from meetings, expenses, and other administrative data.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
- Growth mindset with curiosity and capacity for rapid learning.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives under tight deadlines.
- High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential matters.
- Good interpersonal skills and flexibility.
- Fluency in English; Spanish is an asset.
