Role Overview
As Country Manager – Kenya, you will lead Fuzu’s operations in the market where it all began. You will own the country’s commercial performance, drive user and revenue growth, lead a high-performing local team, and serve as the public face of the Fuzu brand in Kenya.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, leadership, and growth, offering a unique opportunity to scale a high-impact business while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Revenue Leadership
- Own and manage the P&L for Kenya, driving sustainable topline and revenue growth.
- Execute B2B and B2C growth strategies, including employer partnerships and employability programs.
- Identify and unlock new commercial and partnership opportunities.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a growing local team across sales, marketing, and customer experience.
- Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, learning, and results.
Sales & Partnerships
- Drive B2B sales growth by building strong pipelines and closing strategic employer and institutional partnerships.
- Expand Fuzu’s footprint among corporates, SMEs, NGOs, and ecosystem partners.
User Growth & Marketing
- Collaborate with global marketing teams to accelerate user acquisition, activation, and engagement.
- Ensure brand consistency and strong market presence across channels.
Brand Representation
- Act as the face of Fuzu in Kenya, representing the company at media engagements, events, and stakeholder meetings.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure delivery against targets and OKRs.
- Build scalable processes and ensure the Kenya office operates efficiently.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Use data and analytics to track performance, measure ROI, and guide strategic decisions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of professional experience, ideally including:
- High-growth startups
- Tech, marketplace, or digital platforms
- Consulting or strategy roles
- At least 2 years of people management experience with a strong coaching mindset.
- Proven experience owning and growing revenue or commercial targets.
- Strong analytical and data skills, with confidence using Excel and performance dashboards.
- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and execute with urgency.
Preferred Backgrounds
- Former Country Manager, Head of Growth, or Head of Business Development in a startup or tech-enabled business.
- Strategy, BizOps, or Commercial Leader from a scaling SME with real P&L ownership.
- Experience in talent platforms, marketplaces, HR tech, or impact-driven organizations is an advantage.
