Job Summary
IMANI Center for Policy and Education is seeking an experienced Policy Analyst (Consultant) to support its policy research, analysis, and advocacy initiatives. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, a solid publication track record, and deep knowledge of Ghana’s political economy and governance systems.
The consultant will contribute to high-impact, data-driven research and help translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.
Contract Type: Consultancy
Location: Ghana (Hybrid/Remote-friendly)
Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous economic modelling, fiscal policy analysis, and policy research
- Lead and contribute to research on natural resource governance and public sector reforms
- Produce high-quality policy briefs, reports, opinion pieces, and research publications
- Translate complex research findings into clear, accessible, and persuasive policy messages
- Support strategic advocacy initiatives aligned with IMANI’s policy agenda
- Engage and collaborate with government agencies, civil society, development partners, and private sector stakeholders
- Manage and support policy-focused research projects, ensuring timely delivery and impact
- Contribute to thought leadership on Ghana’s political economy and governance landscape
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree or PhD in Public Policy, Economics, Development Economics, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in economic modelling, fiscal policy analysis, and governance research
- Strong publication record with evidence of impactful, data-driven research
- In-depth understanding of Ghana’s political economy, public finance, and governance systems
- Proven experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and strategic communication
- Ability to simplify complex research for policy and non-technical audiences
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing research or policy projects
