Mohinani Group is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager – rPET (Head of Circular Economy & Advocacy) to lead regulatory engagement, ESG strategy, and circular economy advocacy for its rPET recycling subsidiary. Based in Tema Free Zone, this strategic role ensures regulatory compliance, feedstock security, market access, and long-term business sustainability.
The role serves as the Group’s primary interface with government institutions, regulators, industry coalitions, development partners, communities, and the media on all rPET and circular economy matters.
Key Responsibilities
Circular Economy Strategy & Policy Advocacy
- Develop and implement the rPET Circular Economy and Advocacy Strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead engagement with MESTI, EPA, and other regulators on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks, recycled-content incentives, and eco-modulation mechanisms.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments affecting plastics and recycling.
- Support engagement with the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) on food-grade rPET standards aligned with global best practice.
Government, Industry & Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Mohinani Group at GRIPE and other industry platforms.
- Build and manage relationships with Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to secure permits and collection access.
- Engage FMCG brands, NGOs, and development partners to expand rPET uptake.
- Monitor ECOWAS trade policies to support regional feedstock security.
ESG, Investor Relations & Compliance
- Serve as ESG focal point for the rPET business, including engagement with DFIs such as Norfund.
- Ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards, GRI frameworks, and national regulations.
- Oversee ESG reporting, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain sustainability dashboards and executive reports.
Supply Chain Formalization & Social Impact
- Lead initiatives to formalize waste picker and collection networks.
- Support social protection, financial inclusion, and capacity building for informal collectors.
- Track and report social impact metrics including job creation, income stability, and gender inclusion.
- Support Sales teams by linking rPET solutions to customer EPR and sustainability commitments.
Sustainability Communications & Reputation
- Lead sustainability communications and national behaviour-change campaigns (e.g. Charley, Sort It Out).
- Act as a spokesperson on sustainability and recycling issues.
- Champion sustainability initiatives across Mohinani Group subsidiaries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Economics, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8–10+ years experience in sustainability, advocacy, government relations, or circular economy roles.
- Strong knowledge of Ghana’s waste management ecosystem and EPR policy processes.
- Proven experience engaging senior government officials, DFIs, NGOs, and industry coalitions.
- Experience in manufacturing or recycling environments is an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

- 3–5 years experience in manufacturing, maintenance planning, or technical project coordination.
- Experience with CMMS/ERP systems (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.
