Job Overview
The European Union Delegation to Ghana is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant – Accountant to join its Administration Section. Under the supervision of the Head of Administration, the successful candidate will support payroll, accounting, budgeting, treasury, and compliance functions while ensuring accurate financial records and adherence to internal and external regulations.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment and contribute to the EU’s mission of building strong partnerships with Ghana to promote peace, prosperity, and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee payroll administration and statutory compliance
- Support budgeting, treasury, and accounting operations
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper use of funds
- Ensure compliance with internal EU rules and external regulations
- Support audits, reporting, and financial controls
- Provide operational support through system administration and staff guidance
- Act as backup for key finance and administration functions when required
- Perform additional administrative or financial duties as assigned by management
Salary & Benefits
- Minimum gross monthly salary: GHS 17,012.00 (Step 1 of salary grid)
- Final salary will depend on years of relevant professional experience

Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in accounting
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Flexible, reliable, and able to perform under pressure
- Strong technical and procedural accounting knowledge
Eligibility Requirements
Compulsory:
- Ghanaian nationals are eligible to apply
- Non-Ghanaians must possess a valid residence and work permit at the time of application
Qualifications:
- Part 2 of Chartered Accountant (Ghana) certification
Assets (Advantageous Skills)
- Knowledge of French and local Ghanaian languages
- Experience in procurement procedures
