Kempinski Hotels is seeking a detail-oriented and highly capable Assistant Director of Finance to support the financial leadership of its Accra operations.

This position is suited for an experienced finance professional who can oversee accounting functions, maintain regulatory compliance, and step in for the Director of Finance when required. Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Follow and uphold all Kempinski policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with local legislation and financial standards
  • Maintain strong working knowledge across accounting functions
  • Step in for the Director of Finance when required

Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare journal entries during month-end closing
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and proper authorization of all journal postings
  • Keep balance sheet accounts current and well reconciled
  • Oversee preparation and submission of tax returns

Budgeting, Forecasting & Controls

  • Support forecasting and annual budgeting processes
  • Verify that management fees comply with agreements
  • Monitor financial discrepancies and report issues promptly
  • Continuously identify efficiency improvements in finance processes

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Hire, coach, schedule, and evaluate accounting staff
  • Support department heads with financial decision-making
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and vendors
  • Communicate proactively with the Controller on risks or gaps

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in Ghana
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s is an advantage)
  • Minimum 5+ years in an accounting management role
  • At least 2+ years as Assistant Financial Controller or similar
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, PCI DSS, and local regulations
  • Experience with reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with accounting software is an added advantage
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage high workloads
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
