Role Overview
AAK Tamale is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with reporting, and ensuring compliance with Ghana financial regulations. This position plays a vital role in supporting efficient operations across sourcing and trading activities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Records & Transactions
- Process daily financial transactions, including purchases and payments
- Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and accounting files
- Assist with bank reconciliations, cash book management, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Organize and maintain financial documentation
Reporting, Administration & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) requirements, including tax filing
- Assist with month-end closing and preparation of financial reports
- Support year-end activities and statutory financial statement filings
- Help optimize accounting processes and documentation
- Assist with statutory and internal audits
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the accounting team
Inventory Support & Billing
- Maintain inventory records in coordination with logistics teams
- Support inventory stock valuation
- Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (ICAG, ACCA, or equivalent) is a plus
- Knowledge of internal controls to prevent, detect, and correct fraud
- Understanding of accounts payable and receivable practices and procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate billing and accounting records
