Human Resources Manager – ATAF

Contract Type: Four-year contract (with 6-month probation; renewable based on performance and funding)

Purpose of the Position
ATAF is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to manage the full HR function and deliver strategic HR services across the organization.
The role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Services.
Key Responsibilities
As the Human Resources Manager, you will:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Lead recruitment and selection, ensuring ATAF attracts and retains top talent
- Design and oversee performance management systems, including coaching and leadership evaluations
- Manage remuneration, benefits, payroll, and annual salary benchmarking
- Oversee HR administration, including HR systems, leave management, compliance, work permits, and reporting
- Drive employee engagement, wellness programs, employee relations, and culture-building initiatives
- Ensure HR governance, policy updates, and employee relations processes comply with ATAF’s governing rules
Education Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in:
- Human Resource Management
- Industrial Psychology
- Public Management
- Business Administration
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Senior HR Generalist
- Experience in an international or regional organization is a strong advantage
Key Competencies & Skills
- Strong knowledge of South African employment law
- Hands-on experience with SAGE 300 People
- Experience managing foreign national HR processes and procedures
- Excellent English communication skills
- Knowledge of Portuguese, Arabic, or French is an added advantage
- Proven organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
Travel & Other Requirements
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Valid driver’s license
