Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Area Manager – Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing to lead and expand our business operations across Accra and the Eastern Region of Ghana. The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth, identify new market opportunities, manage sales teams, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including hospitals, wholesalers, retailers, and government institutions.
This role requires strong leadership, deep pharmaceutical industry knowledge, and proven experience in sales and marketing strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify new business opportunities, recommending profit and service improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical and professional advice to the Board on new and existing pharmaceutical products.
- Identify growth opportunities within the existing customer base and key stakeholders to accelerate business volume.
- Lead lobbying and product promotion efforts in government and private hospitals, wholesalers, and retail outlets.
- Coordinate closely with the Sales Manager, sales team, and marketing team to implement company strategies and achieve sales targets.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of pharmacists and medical/marketing representatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Pharm D or B.Sc. Pharmacy from a reputable institution in Ghana.
- Additional professional or postgraduate certifications will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered and eligible to practice in Ghana.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing (mandatory).
- Proven experience managing and leading teams of pharmacists or medical/marketing representatives.
- Strong understanding of the Ghanaian pharmaceutical market, hospital procurement processes, and distribution channels.
