Job Overview
Wayoe Engineering & Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Materials and Warehouse Superintendent to lead and manage all warehouse and materials control operations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate inventory management, timely material availability, cost efficiency, and strict compliance with safety and quality standards across workshops and multiple project sites.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in warehouse supervision within construction, mining, oil & gas, or steel fabrication environments.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, inspection, storage, issuing, and dispatch of materials
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and fabricated items
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, and traceability of all materials
- Conduct daily, monthly, and annual stock counts and reconciliations
Materials Planning & Control
- Coordinate material requirements with Procurement, Maintenance, and Project teams
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate timely replenishment
- Prevent stock-outs and overstocking through effective materials planning
- Manage material returns, surplus stock, and obsolete inventory
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate timely delivery and dispatch of materials to project sites
- Ensure accurate documentation for material movement, including MRNs, waybills, and delivery notes
- Liaise with transporters and internal logistics teams to optimize delivery schedules
Systems & Documentation
- Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to track material movements and balances
- Ensure all warehouse transactions are accurately recorded and auditable
- Prepare and submit inventory, consumption, and variance reports to management
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Enforce warehouse safety standards, housekeeping, and material handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with WEC HSE policies, Ghanaian safety regulations, and industry standards
- Implement security controls to prevent theft, loss, or damage of materials
- Support internal, external, and client audits and close out audit findings
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse supervisors, storekeepers, and materials controllers
- Allocate duties and manage staff performance in line with KPIs
- Promote accountability, discipline, and teamwork within the warehouse team
Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor material consumption trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Improve warehouse layout, processes, and turnaround time
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in materials handling and storage
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Inventory accuracy ≥ 98%
- Zero stock-out incidents for critical items
- Inventory variance ≤ 2%
- On-time material delivery ≥ 95%
- Zero warehouse safety incidents
- ERP transaction accuracy: 100%
- Obsolete stock ≤ 3% of total inventory
- Audit findings closure rate: 100%
- Warehouse staff productivity ≥ 90%
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience in warehouse and materials management
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- Strong background in construction, mining, oil & gas, or steel fabrication
- Proven experience supporting workshops and multiple project sites

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with steel works and fabrication materials

- Familiarity with Ghanaian supply chain and transport regulations
